Perching Chickens

A pet isn't just for Christmas or is it? 

Four white chickens with a coop arrived on the land around the nearby church tower a few months ago. Lots of the self-seeded trees and foliage was cut down, giving them a sizable area to scratch in. And they look well cared for as far as I can tell.

I didn't know chickens perched, but clearly they do. So did they walk along the branch or did they hop onto it? CCTV anyone?

And in answer to my first line, I'll let you know later this month........
