Grass tree

I've always been fascinated by Grass Trees, Xanthorrhoea which are native to Australia.
The trunks are charcoal black, with a cascading fountain of green at the head.
I have 2 in my garden, which unusually have come into flower. For a slow growing tree ( 2cm per year ), a 4 meter flower can appear in a matter of days. Incredible...
