Late light over The Mersey
Another day where the sun made an appearance for about 3 nanoseconds but it was a bright and interesting day with extravagant cloud formations.
We headed off to Birkenhead first for a couple of rolls of Stornoway black pudding as Christmas presents and a few photos in Birkenhead Market. After that we drove and had a wander along and around New Brighton. I've always loved coming here since we discovered the place due to lighthouse bagging about 15 years ago. It's wonderfully idiosyncratic but has great views, plenty of nature and lots of interesting gribbly bits. As we were walking back to the car the sun came up and lit up Perch Rock lighthouse beautifully and showing the scale of the huge dock cranes on the other side of The Mersey.
