SUNDAY AFTERNOON DRIVE

We set off armed with cameras and picnic basket. Sun and cloud created changing drama of light and shade in the landscape. The dirt road was in good condition. Damascus, Vrisgewacht and Weltevreden, well known farms producing export apricots, plums and figs.
The round trip, a mere 40 kilometers, but what magnificent scenery- mountains, distant vistas, cottages, rocks coloured lime green by lichen. Unfortunately the wind was bitterly cold so we did not linger.
