Abbots wood

The weather app said it may well rain so we opted for a sheltered walk through Abbots Wood.
It didn't rain and was quite mild. We.followed the path which was once the driveway is to the mansion, now long gone,  but then went off at a tangent through the old yew trees. Lots of space for Fletch to explore .

Blip is of a detail of a wonderful Arts and Crafts house at the entrance to the wood. It is very well preserved. I love the carved eaves and the detail in the plaster.
We usually stop and have a good look at it (from a distance) and fantasise living there.
Of course my practical side soon kicks in.. it is quite remote now the road is blocked off and I'm not sure how safe I'd feel at night , especially in winter and quite away from any shop .And oh yes.. it's beyond our limits at £800,000 which was the asking price before they took it off the market.
Still it's a lovely house!

Extra shows  the house taken in July.
