Hauled by Hercules

Today was one of those special annual Christmas treats. We enjoyed a leisurely Christmas lunch in the company of JohnRH & W (see extra) on the North Norfolk Railway.

Hercules hauled us (slowly) from Sheringham to Holt twice while we enjoyed some excellent conversation, a glass of champagne and a traditional Christmas menu. There is something so wonderfully nostalgic about dining on a train, especially when it’s steam-hauled.

The volunteers do such a good job looking after us and are always so cheerful and friendly. There is plenty of time to get out the train for a leg stretch while the engine is run around the train, which is shown in my photo taken at Holt Station.
