Bristol
Just a small part of Bristol, UK, while I was waiting.
This was taken from the Castlemeads building, 9th floor where Julia was visiting Optical Express.
It was a good drive, taken in the MX-5, which took Julia back a good few years. She used to play Under 17's Basketball for England and I was her transport to various tournaments around the South West of England.
Got back one day, after a trip to Exeter, where Julia told her sister, Johanna, that we'd been doing over 100 mph. Johanna, for whatever reason, mentioned it to Marlane. It would probably have been less painful to have been caught speeding by the police!!!! Johanna didn't mean to shop me but we were all a lot younger then, must have been over 20 years ago now.
I have noticed that I'm encountering less lunatics on the motorways nowadays, people seem to stick to the speed limits, not everyone of course but in general we are all very law abiding. Nothing to do with the plethora of 'Average Speed' cameras around I guess! Certainly makes me check my speed regularly.
When Julia joined the RAF she continued her basketball for a few years but this time with the RAF flying her to tournaments, at well over 100mph!.
Her longest trip, in matches as well as miles, was to New Zealand where she played against the N.Z. Defence Forces on both North and South islands.
