'Showing off the Columns'

I went my appointment with the physio at 2.30 this afternoon, as arranged.

She did several diagnostic tests and concluded that the cause of the pain wasn't in her department!

She suspected an infection and suggested that I try to get an emergency appointment with the duty GP at my doctor's surgery or, failing that, call 111 to see if they could help.

I was in luck!  By 4.30, I was sitting in the office of the senior partner at the medical practice - in the West End of Edinburgh- (rather than speaking to him by telephone, which is all too common these days)!

He confirmed that the sore area was caused by an infection and gave me a prescription for antibiotics. He said the antibiotics should reduce the swelling within a day or two, and by 6 o'clock, I had taken my first dose!

So it looks like I'll be 'back on my (running) feet' in a few days rather than over a month, as I'd feared!

On my way back from the pharmacy where I had gone with the prescription to where I'd left the car, I saw this building in Melville Street.

I don't know what it is, but it is pretty striking and visible the whole length of Stafford Street.
