Number147

Tuesday

My daughter had some fantastic news yesterday.

Less than 6 months ago she had an horrific accident. She suffered a TBI and endured a craniotomy and her life was in the balance.

Her resilience and determination knows no bounds and she has been successful in securing an incredible new role.

I really do not know how she can achieve so much after experiencing something so traumatic. You hear about remarkable people and it turns out I am the mother of one such person.

We had friends here for food this evening. Simon brought champagne, not knowing we had a celebration. Clive raised a toast and there were a few tears.

Sometimes I go back to that night, the longest night of my life, and think of the drive to London in the early hours not knowing. I was preparing myself for the worst news and look where we are.

Truly a cause for celebration.

(Another trip to Melksham to release a mouse.)
