Pileated Woodpecker

My favorite blip-spotter saw this big guy up on a the remnant of a broken limb on the beech tree next to our deck. I was able to capture it through our dining room sliding door. 
I brought out the big lens that is so hard to shoot with. It did an ok job, but I wonder if it might be worth saving for a better lens.
