Winnage

Barrage is probably the most cutthroat game we own.  The theme is that of generating electricity from hydroelectric stations by building a combination of dams, pipelines and power stations.  This is fine until someone gains enough resources and puts their dam upstream of yours and your reservoir dries up.

It doesn't come out very often either here or at C's so we were both pleased to be able to get it to the table as we both like the occasional cutthroat game and our wives don't.  

Mid-game I was waay behind, but I focussed on getting the infrastructure in place for later in the game.  Remarkably, that paid off and I ended up winning the game for the first time ever.

The games for the rest of the day were much, much lighter and sillier fare.
