A final bout of scout admin for 2024, more cycling to nowhere in the garage, Xmas cards written and delivered locally on my repaired bike, and then off to Gala via Tempest Brewery to collect a 5 litre mini-keg of Vermont. The Volunteer Hall was satisfyingly quiet for my annual flu vaccine. As a life-long asthma practitioner, I've been jabbed annually since the 1970s and it's great to get the vaccination centre to myself again.

Home via the Melrose fishmonger to collect a couple of haddock fillets to go with the ageing sweet potato in the veg basket. Fingers crossed its still edible.

Gritters were out in force in Gala and Newtown so I suppose it'll be sub-zero tonight.
