The Nails Have It!

I met up with my Fort William niece (she of the Christmassy nails) this morning when she was in town.
It was a new venue for me- the Angel Share restaurant in Hope Street. I have passed it on the bus often but never been inside. It gets a tick from me although it is a long way from my happy hunting ground at M&S. We managed two hours without being thrown out - we had 6 months of news to catch up on.
In the meantime I missed a message from son#1 telling me there would be a parcel arriving from him between 12:44 and 3:44pm by Royal Mail. Why does Royal Mail  they give these exact minutes when in fact the parcel was already lying at the front door when I got home at 12:20? Beside it on the mat there was also a parcel from Yorkshire daughter with goodies from Betty’s. As you see from the blip of the parcels’ contents my  children know my proclivities too well!

It was a lovely day although quite windy and I decided to walk to Daughter#2 house and put a card from Glasgow daughter through the letterbox. She hadn’t had time to do it  when she was through in Edinburgh on Sunday.
I was back by 3 to see the light fading - such a short day. I think I have a touch of SAD at the moment because I seem to spend my life in the dark. No wonder the northern countries take to drink ……. There’s a small bottle of Prosecco from Stromness Selkie Kathleen winking at me from the fridge. I’m not sure I can resist.
