Fungus Delight
It's at this time of year that I visit any local(-ish) National Trust properties with Christmas displays. Today it was the turn the Hinton Ampner near Alton. The half dozen or so rooms opened were a feast for the eyes - I particularly liked the Woodland Walk themed room (extra).
Afterwards I took a walk around the grounds, following the Tree Trail. It was a bit dull and chilly, but bracing nevertheless. There were quite a few fallen large trees around, evidence no doubt of storms over the last few years. However, they seemed full of life with lichen, mosses and probably plenty of insects if one looked closely. I even found some clumps of sulphur tuft for today's Tiny Tuesday - a treasure in my eyes, especially at this time of year!
