Dolly's Day

GREEN

Busy day today.  Walked down to the village and collected some tablets from the chemists that weren't ready yesterday when I got my other ones.  Then to the Post Office to post a couple of parcels and some Christmas cards.  Then to Herons and Tesco for food shopping... plus one parcel collected at Tesco.  Only one more parcel in the pipeline and thats it for 2024.

Back home to unpack the shopping and then I caught a bus to the Co-op.  More food shopping ... things I can't get in the village.  Walked home.  Weather was cold and windy.

Wrote a few more Christmas cards this evening and a letter to go inside one of them.

At 7.45pm I settled down to listen to the football on the radio.  It was a Carabao Cup match - Newcastle V Brentford.  I had a ticket for the match but I didn't fancy going.  I knew the weather would be cold.  I offered the ticket to Neil but he couldn't go as he's in London today and tomorrow for his works Christmas party.  So I sold my ticket back to the club.  It was re-sold immediately.

The match was a good one.  Newcastle got their first goal after just 9 mins. Two more Toon goals followed - one by my favourite player.  Brentford managed to get a consolation goal  in added on time but it was too little too late.  Final score Newcastle 3 Brentford 1. So Newcastle progress to the semi finals of the Carabao Cup.

Took my blip shot as I came home from the village.  After dark some  lights come on in this garden making all the trees look bright green.  As the Wide Wednesday theme is ' Green' I thought this shot would do.  Thanks to StevenG for hosting.
