Wednesday
We departed Amadeus in torchlight although gaps in the clouds soon gave enough moonlight for fair visibility.
We cleared more of the leaves, twigs and larger branches from the woodland pathway before heading back to start our journey to South Devon, a visit to My Godmother Auntie Joan is always a pleasure. The journey there was a little disrupted by having to stop several times to try and console Dippy whose breakfast ended up spread over the blanket he was lying on. He was in distress and barking loudly, I thought he was hungry and stopped, bought him some food but he was not settled. On arriving at our destination he drank lots of water and only then did I wake up and realise that he was dehydrated from his stomach emptying issue earlier!
Lesson learned.
A lovely catch up and light lunch was enjoyed with Cousin Peter and his mum who will be 90 soon and hopefully 100 in ten years time.
Back to North Devon and lashing rain didn’t deter Dippy and I from a brisk walk around Appledore where I invested in an onion basket (a blip for one of those busier days), followed by a charge around in Westward Ho beach with the other 4 humans and 2 dogs!!!,
Torrential rain continued most of the evening until another cyclone came hurtling our way rocking Amadeus once more with 40+ mph winds.
Zzzzzz
