Just the one

I found that I had booked myself a days leave for today (sometimes I surprise myself), so we had an excursion out to Dobbies on the far side of Edinburgh in search of a wonderful hoe that D had seen Mr Fish using. We were sort of successful.

When we arrived back in Leith this lesser black-backed gull standing on one leg on the pillar wasn't giving his other leg a rest, but couldn't use it at all. We recalled seeing someone very like him last year; it had looked as if he'd injured it and we thought that his chances weren't good. If it's the same guy he's definitely a survivor. Even the gulls Persevere!
