Catastrophe
I think the Great Getaway has begun, the trains and office were both very empty for a Thursday. I'd caught up with three unexpected days out by hometime, interspersed with dealing with the new stuff. I even managed to master our HR system and update my sick absence (nowhere near as easy as it sounds). Or I think I have anyway. There's still a weak link in the chain but I've done my bit.
Tomorrow is the last day most of my programme team are working for two weeks as we have an enforced consultant and contractor furlough over the festive break so is quite busy. I'm hoping not to be there too late as Id like to go and meet my publican friend for a drink or two, I've hardly seen him this year.
I think it's nuggets for tea. Himself is trying to avert a bit of a catastrophe (ipotentially a real catastrophe, not just a pre Christmas panic one) and is stuck on the phone. Ironically it's related to a system I installed about 20 years ago.
