Andromeda

Playing with my new toy. First clear night we’ve had since it arrived.
This image is created from a stacked set of images - a total of 129 individual images, and a total of about 30 minutes pointing at the smudge in the sky. Not a bad first attempt.
The Andromeda galaxy is about 2.5 million light years away from Earth. And it’s about 152,000 light years across. Those are just brain-hurting numbers. Even in the city, you can see it if you know where to look.

Before it got dark I took the dog for a walk over the hills. And it was lovely. But you’ve seen those images before.
