Edinburgh: Balmoral Hotel

In Edinburgh for a lunch meet up today ( not in this hotel I hasten to add but in a nearby pub). The Balmoral Hotel was formerly known as the North British Hotel and was opened in the early 20th Century, providing accommodation for travellers arriving at Waverley Station which is close by. Traditionally the clock on the hotel tower is always 2 minutes fast to assist rail passengers in getting their trains on time.
The clock is visible from a considerable distance in the city centre.
