Manly Dam

Manly Dam, Take 2. We drove there and set off on the park circuit walk, 6.8 km, but the map was misleading. The easy part was at the start with spectacular river red gums and scribbly gums, birdlife and wildflowers; then steep with waterfalls, water dragons and sunny rock platforms; finally a never-ending fire trail. After 8 km we took a local’s advice and headed to Allambie Heights and a ride share back to the car.

Extras: Sydney red gums and sundews, a carnivorous plant.
