Frances

This ceramic plate with spotted toadstools under blue clouds was given to me by my dear friend Frances, many years ago. She liked quirky things.

Frances is not well and the latest news is that she is 'fading gracefully'. The Frances I knew was big and loud, warm and generous and impulsive and funny. I can't think of anyone less likely either to fade or to do it gracefully.
