Main shows a gateway in a wall, and a failed wooden door. These are in Arriondu, from where I showed yesterday a ruined house and last week (14 December) a ruined hórreo. Today´s will I promise be the last from Arriondu for a while.
There is no obvious reason that I can see either for the existence of today´s wall or of the gate that it contains. There may once have been a property somewhere in there that I´m not aware of. The photo though is only to show the gate and wall, which I´ll post for the Dereliction challenge.
In extras, 1. shows the wall and gate from another angle, showing the way the gateway leans; 2 shows a close-up of the door with Santolaya below it in the distance; 3 and 4 show colour close-ups of the flower in the wall that people commented on yesterday.
Having asked around I can now reveal that the lady who cleans and cares for, and waters the plants outside, the chapel, also tends the flower in yesterday´s ruin. The latter task she does to help Alicia, who lives close to the ruin but is living and working in the city all week. Alicia likes to see the ruin looking cared for. Mystery solved.
