At the Wedding
I’ve edited this photo of Luke, daughter, Ella and Nathaniel taken at the wedding a couple of days ago. I bought Ella’s dress - she found it for £17 in the summer sales and it’s perfect. The boy wanted a suit with waistcoat and that cost me a lot more!
Bad news last night from Lynne (who came for the Ottolenghi dinner on Monday). She’s in hospital waiting for a bed and surgeon and open heart surgery. She has saw a consultant yesterday about the results of a scan she had a few weeks ago. She was told it showed a dangerously large aneurysm. She’s being very positive but it’s major. I’m worried for her.
I had a walk to drop a card in to Marianne this morning, expecting to see her recovering for her foot operation. Unfortunately she had flu on the due date so the op is to be re-scheduled for the spring.
The RVI letter, dated 2 weeks ago, about my eye check 2 months ago, arrived. I’ve to be seen in 2 months as the pressure has gone up and other readings were not good. I don’t think anything can be done apart from me continuing with the drops.
#3 daughter and both children were very sick in the night and during the drive to their cottage near the coast south of Hout Bay. It’s dangerous to stop in SA but luckily they had dog poo bags to be sick in on the journey. The cottage is fine - they’ll be there a while so can chill out till they are better. Luke is OK so we suspect the food at the after wedding pool party yesterday.
I decided to hassle Mr C to get himself organised and leave for Birmingham earlier than he thought we should. It seemed to me a good plan to get as far down the road as we could before it got dark. Also I thought there would be holiday traffic as well as the usual Friday busyness. We are making headway and now at Ripon junction.
