I'll concede it's not much of a photo but as days went it wasn't much of a day. Not bad, of course. Phil popped round in the morning for the chat and the coffee. Some minor poking around an old projector was accomplished, if you can call it an accomplishment. The question, if I can establish that there is power getting to the terminals the bulb connects to, is whether to part with £100 for a new bulb.

And then the headphones. Long story but I ended up taking them back out of the bin to poke at the innards, taking the ropey jack socket out and hard-wiring the cable directly to the board. Hasn't worked entirely but some more fiddling with the wiring might sort it. Six cables for a stereo connection is three more than usual. Tricky because they're so old there's no information about them online. 

Of course, the photo should have been one of young Chris' performance in the school's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Excellent ham acting from all of them. But photography was, for reasons unexplained, forbidden.
