Pat

Maeve and I had our traditional Christmas lunch today, lots of chat and memories.  Then we went to see Pat who used to be with us but is no longer able to.  Her care home is very nice, and she is very comfortable, but of course it is never like home.  She lost Ron this year, and although her family is excellent and look after her needs very well, she misses him very much.  We gave her her presents, and she was so pleased to see us.

She was an excellent special needs teacher in her day, and a brilliant walker and climber, and we paired up for rock climbing when we were young and fit.  Also hiked many miles with her both in this country and in Europe.  A forever friend.
