Term’s End

It’s cold but sunny again, and it is the last day of term for Vanessa, Dash, and Gabriel; the Christmas holidays have begun… to great relief all round. The term always ends with an absence of anything serious and plenty of fun, festive bits: Gubs has a film studies class where they are just watching Love Actually and having a party; Dash gets an early finish at lunchtime, and V will no doubt come home laden with gifts and cards from all the children in her class.

I got my daily photo in the bag early, driving home after the school run. The sun rose just over the horizon, casting wonderful golden light and long shadows across the landscape… so I stopped on the outskirts of Coldred to capture this image of the tree-lined avenue leading into the village. Later in the day, there’s plenty of Dad’s Taxi duty for me… Monty needed a lift to Canterbury, and Dash grabbed a lift home at the same time. Vanessa has her main work Christmas party tonight, out for dinner and drinks in the city, and no doubt there are other comings and goings I will be made aware of in due course.
