Carols in the Square (and Wide Wednesday Results)
Something of a tradition in the village where we live is this community carol singing in the square a few days before Christmas.
I rather stupidly set the camera to super nutter maniac mode so I have 2250 RAW images to sort through.
However, just looking through the jpgs I found these two. The main is a family, clearly enjoying the occasion, and in the extra, Gill and Gaynor providing the descant for one of the carols. The rain stayed away, mulled wine and mince pies were consumed, the children sang the first verse of away in a manger, our minister does a short blessing, its a really good community event.
So: Wide Wednesday Results ...
This week’s Wide Wednesday theme was ‘Green’ to go with the Red and Blue of the previous two Wednesdays.
As usual – there were some great photographs and interpretations.
Favourites to:
Nicoiseannie – Green Elfcaps – one of a recent run of fungi blips on her journal.
Hyperion – a wonderful wide moss-covered tree
LauraBlack – A tall thin wide angle shot of a very specialised doorway
Raine – a very different type of green door
Bobsblips – Frames within frames in this green themed street image
Honourable Mentions to:
Lesmark – the green returning to a baked Andalucía
NickyR – bare trees on a rounded green hill
Laurie54 – green against a blue sky
Maureen482 – soft light on a muted rural scene
Kipsie – raindrops on green leaves
A special mention for Carolina who celebrated a blip birthday with her entry.
Thanks to everyone who entered, as ever, I have very much enjoyed seeing your efforts and choosing the awards, and of course, its just my opinion! Hope everyone has a good Christmas with a little more peace and goodwill than we have seen recently.
Wide Wednesday is taking a break over Christmas and returning on January 1st when you are still stuck with me as host. The themes for January are here on the communities page.
