Marjorie's ramblings

By walkingMarj

Onwards towards Christmas

Julie invited me for coffee and a “light lunch”. She is a wonderful hostess and I came away more than replete!

We had our usual sort of wide ranging chat, including the state of our friends and the state of the world plus a bit about TV and books.

I was telling Julie about Elif Sharaf’s book, “There are Rivers in the Sky “. I’m still listening to it as an audiobook. Later on, Elif was interviewed about the book on Times Radio. I was thrilled to hear that she, the author, fell in love with her character, Arthur. I’m in love with him too!

I came home to collect Margret’s washing. Some was still damp, but I took the rest to the hospital. She looks much better, but is very tired and had not felt able to try to walk today.

I tidied the room as best I could. Christmas cards are not easy to display in a hospital room.

I had eaten so well at Julie’s that I had a cheese and bread supper.

The lights are outside Hexham General Hospital.
