Christmas Party

We had our school Christmas party today, with lots of stories and activities. Cowichan Tribes Elders and members drew spirit animals (amazingly freehand for each teacher!) and invited us to paint our gifts. My gift was an orca, known as the sea wolf jumping over the moon - I learned the history and characteristics from an elder as he created the drawing right before my eyes - it was a very intimate setting and a little bit emotional.
