Slandered!
I had a quick start this morning as I went across to Ali's to pick up a returns parcel to post. I also went into the charity shop to drop off some things.
On the way out I bumped into Santa who was having a great time collecting, with his reindeer driven chariot, out in the car park. To my horror he told me that he'd checked his naughty list and I was borderline!... Only a couple of days to mend my ways he warned!
I went down to Craigleith with Colin to pick up a couple of gifts for the girls - not convinced we've got the correct coloured of Wicked stuff, fingers crossed. I have as they say taken precautions.
We went home and had lunch and then I ventured again, on my own this time, to Sainsbury's. I had quite a good haul in my trolley when I realised to my horror that I had 5 minutes to get to D' mains for a nail appointment.
I abandoned my trolley with a member of staff and an apology, and headed out at top speed. I called the salon on the way and said I'd hopefully be only 5 minutes late. I made it by the skin of my teeth. Thankfully the traffic wasn't as bad as it can often be just before Christmas. I had only just got there when I received an email to say that our visit to the Botanics Christmas lights event, tomorrow evening, was under threat due to the weather.
When I got home, complete with lovely, sparkly red, nails I tried to rearrange the date to today as it was on offer. No success though as the website wouldn't cooperate.
I phoned the Botanics and as anticipated, they were not able to help but said there were ticketing staff in the gardens at the moment if I wanted to head down. I did so and got in the door just as they were closing. I managed to rearrange the date and we went tonight, at 6.30 instead of tomorrow.
The weather tomorrow may be fine, but there's is heavy rain and hail force winds forecast, so tonight's calm, dry and not too cold evening was a real bonus. We had a great time and toasted marshmallows may have been consumed - but at what a price. Never mind it's part of Katy's birthday treat and we had fun.
On checking I realised it's the 6th consecutive year that we have been. I've put a collage as an extra, I think my favourites this year were the robins and the origami birds. ? Cranes perhaps although I see thought of swans when I saw them.
