Christmas cake iced and decorated

Mr hazelh iced our Christmas cake this afternoon. I added the decorations. I followed the rule that you should plonk all the random ornaments on the top while leaving a reasonable gap to access slices of cake. 

This morning Mummy hazelh semi-woke distressed from a vivid nightmare, calling out for me after I had already left for the gym. Fortunately Mr hazelh was on hand to calm her down. This took him quite some effort and time, but he managed on his own, assuring me that I didn't need to rush home. An hour later Mummy hazelh had forgotten the whole trauma. 

I spent most of the afternoon/evening on following-up work related to my visit to Newcastle yesterday. This included writing a report for my sisters to summarise the reasoning behind my recommendation of a particular care home for our mother. It's interesting that my not-so-little sister had her eye on this one all along. Even so, I still think that it was worth doing all the research and making visits in person to all the short-listed homes. 

I think that I have injured my left hip. It was sore in pilates :-(

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; pilates class; swim (30 lengths); walking (12,452 steps).
