Did you feel the bump?

At 09.20 this morning the earth reached its maximum tilt and started back again, which for us in the Northern hemisphere is the Winter Solstice and the start of Yuletide.

These days it means  our tree gets unpacked and lit up with the fairy (she’s in her mid-forties now) on top.  Its only in recent years that she has wound up with a light up her kilt.  Our decorations are minimal this year.

The outside lights will stay on now until New Year’s Day.  I was going to get some additional new ones this year, but it just didn’t happen.

Somewhat blustery here again today.  Our flock of sparrows were hiding in the hedge making quick forays to the seed feeder and back.  The shot at extra was taken through the window with an excess of reflections.  It took two passes through the developer to get an image where we can see them.

Liver and onions for tea tonight.
