Gently down the stream

Sally Army carols

Today has been an extremely busy pre-Christmas day, but I'm feeling better for the amount of 'stuff' I've got done.  Family presents exchanged (thanks to lovely Little Sis), more bought or investigated, decos a bit further forward and tomorrow sorted out for when we have K's partner's two young kids over for lunch, fun and the doing of artwork in and out of dogs and cooking.

With no time to go to the reserve - and abysmal weather - this afternoon I went shopping and even thought I might visit the Christmas Market.  However, the queues to get in are longer than ever and even though I know two back ways to avoid this, I really couldn't face the crush.  It was when I left the Cathedral Close I heard and saw the Sally Army playing carols on the corner of Market Lane.  I couldn't resist stopping to listen.  The guy on the right playing the euphonium had both his young sons with him.  The older one was playing a trombone (just out of shot on the right), but the younger one, as you can see, was getting a bit tired and rather bored, though behaving impeccably apart from the yawn.

It made me smile!

And yes, of course I talked to the person collecting and put some money in the bucket for their Christmas appeal.  They do such very good work.

Okay, that's me.  Have a good evening and a lovely Sunday  xx
