The accidental finding

Perfect day

It sounded stormy in the morning, but I went out nevertheless, avoiding the crowded town centre and visiting only a supermarket, and a charity shop, where I got three wine glasses for fifty pence each!

Walked back with my.podcast on, to be ready for S who was supposed to be coming round for a cosy movie-fest. He eventually turned up, and we watched a terrible film.on Netflix called Subservience, about an evil AI robot that goes wrong and wrecks s family life. Then we had lunch, and S wanted to see another film
It was very cold, so we snuggled under a blanket with the heater underneath it. S said this is an Afghani way of keeping warm

We started watching the second Narnia movie, Prince Casoian, which is not short, and then V texted to to ask if she could pop around with some presents. We had to pause the film to chat, eat mince pies/biscuits, discuss After Eight chocolates , and chew the fat. The terrible injuries sustained by those at the German Christmas market at Magdeburg are on my mind. I texted my friend K in Bremen, and she said her aunt had bad been planning to go to that very market last night, but had been too tired to venture out. There but for the grace of God...

S is concerned that the Afghani refugees who have been promised resettlement in Germany are now in limbo, either still in Afghanistan or Pakistan, because Germany doesn't seem to want them any more. This will affect his work, but of course have a greater impact on those waiting and waiting.

After V left, S and I started watching the film again, but realised it was really long, so he went home to finish watching the rest on his laptop. I had a bit of a tidy up and switched on my Northern Lights projector to watch the rest of the film full length on the sofa, with a glass of wine.

No need to worry about what's for dinner, as I've already bought a n Asian 'meal in a box '. This is the kind of lazy, companionable day I've dreamed of having for a very long time. I did not take any other shots, so please do enjoy the Aurora in my living room.
