“This is the solstice, the still point of the sun, its cusp and midnight, the year's threshold
and unlocking, where the past lets go of and becomes the future; the place of caught breath, the door of a vanished house left ajar.”
Margaret Atwood
At 9.20am we lit a fire to mark the solstice, and the return of the light. It was a windy old morning so the fire got going quickly, but after about 20 minutes, the rain returned and then the sun peeped out again and a rainbow arched above the house. Nice.
Joanna and I went to a lovely concert this afternoon by the Cairn Chorus, who I sang with earlier this year. It’s good to be in the audience now and then. Such wonderful music and they all looked happy to be singing. I am looking forward to joining them again in February.
In other news, I cleared my desk of the the clutter which has accumulated over the past weeks. To be continued:-)
