An Dùbhlachd

The Gaelic word for December translates as "the blackness", and so it was today.

Sunrise was at 08.43 and sunset at 15.39. To add to all that, it was very windy (25mph/40kph) and very wet at times.

But it was all fine. I had a good Parkrun (at Loch Leven). My legs, lungs and heart did what my brain demanded of them. I got cold. I got wet. I got wind blasted. But I still trundled along nicely.

Yet again, the finish line was the best part. My hot shower afterwards was a fantasy come true. So were my coffee and croissant afterwards.

I had no football today - my lot played in Glasgow last night in the BBC's televised match, and they lost. My decision not to go was a good one. So was my decision not to watch it on TV.

I enjoyed having some time to chill. Next week is likely to be busy - Parkruns on Wednesday and Saturday plus the Partick Thistle v Queen's Park derby in Glasgow as well.

I got my Blip at 09.24 as the weak sun crept along the horizon. A few of us Parkrunners were huddled in the lee of the cricket pavilion to shelter from the gale as we waited for the start time.
