A three naps day with no walking
Seem to be what I need, where possible, on the first day out of term time.
My Doobry, my trusty pedometer, showed a paltry 1551 steps between bed, sofa, other necessary places, and back to bed again.
My first pedometer, acquired when I was tracking exercise walking for health related reasons, was known as Mr Doofer - a name it acquired during a holiday around Loch Awe when the friend I do my Scottish holidays with was awestruck at the swop in our walking customs. I had long sat in the car whilst she went off for walks. This was the holiday where I was being dropped off a couple of miles from our holiday let as I was grumbling I'd not walked enough!
Mr Doofer? Well, when I've done 10,000 steps, a stick figure waves. And a regular question on this holiday was "How far does Mr Doofer say we've walked?" When Mr. Doofer had gone round the washing machine one too many times and became inaccurate, a new pedometer was acquired, and Mr. Doofer earned an honourable retirement, but by then my students all knew about Mr. Doofer and one of them insisted on Mr. Doobry for the new one!
