Feijoada in Mondego

Bb was writing our Christmas letter this morning (blip helps as a very useful memory jogger!) and I was doing normal marking.

In the afternoon, being Saturday, we set out to try another feijoada. We looked at one place on Santa Clara, but it was rejected when we found out that their offering didn’t include black beans, nor couve (kale?) The waiter there recommended Mondego, just a couple of blocks away. It looked very good and we took a table just inside, by the window. We weren’t disappointed with the quality - best of the 3 so far (others do far were in Real Chopp and La Maison). Couldn’t fault the service either……but the quantities were huge! Honestly, even after we’d eaten our fill, there was enough meat and beans for a family of four, as well as leftovers of everything else. Of course, we did take a doggy bag of everything and gave it to a houseless family of 4, but the quantity was a bit off-putting. The search continues! I did wonder if the restaurant world agree to serving us less and preparing the rest for takeaway if we went back. The smallest portion on the menu is for 2/3. Why?!

I think I’m up-to-date with blips now :-)
