Tree Down

First job of the day was to forage for Christmas lunch food - we arrived well ahead of the store (officially) opening so that we could fortify ourselves with coffee and cake before tackling the scrum.

As it happened the store doors were open before 10  (even though it is a Sunday) and the crowds were not too bad but the queues at the tills were pretty long….

Walked in the woods after lunch - which in hindsight was probably not the wisest idea as it was blowing a hoolie - and this tree appears to have been a casualty. It looks pretty rotten in the centre of the trunk, and it was also covered in ivy which probably made it more susceptible to the wind. Added an extra which shows more of the ivy and the also the way it has fallen right across the beck.
