Roll on Christmas
Another wet and windy day, but by late afternoon the wind seems to have died down - let's hope that the end of it!
Not a great day for going out, though mother and daughter went out for a bit of shopping this morning.
I stayed in and continued with my photographs and London walks. It's surprising what you learn when you start researching, or simply trying to identify buildings and open spaces on the route. I passed and photographed Victorian housing estates built and run by the likes of the Guinness Trust and the Peabody Trust, both of which I think built these city estates for those who were unable to get on to the property ladder or find somewhere suitable to rent. Some of these estates were surrounded by trees and gardens and are still looking good today.
A couple of years ago we bought a potted Christmas tree - a Caucasian fir, Abies nordmanniana - and we brought this in and decorated it this afternoon. My Blip today. I think we'll get a few more Christmases out of it before it gets too big!
Quote of the Day: 'Not everyone who sells Christmas trees believes in Santa Claus.' - Matt Barr.
