Sometimes Making Room in The Freezer…
… Is an interesting experience.
Hands up all those who throw things in to the freezer thinking, ‘I spurn your unnecessary advice and your erasable felt-tip pen; there’s no need for me to label THIS. It’s obviously….’
A very disturbing feature of overconfidence is that it often appears to be poorly associated with memory.
I needed Freezer Room… (On account , obviously, of my own weight in parsley). The above pot was mysterious enough for me to feel reasonably gung ho about losing it.
‘What is it?’, asked Himself. ‘Are we having it later?’
My honest assumption was that it probably contained some kind of raspberry component. Though, on thawing, it might (?) have displayed a kind of froth.
So I tried it (from behind the sofa).
No part of it had ever been related to a raspberry. Its tartness was enough to be described as (and I apologise for this family phrase) ‘close your bottom’.
Redcurrants perhaps (?) that, through their own very sourness, had withered themselves to juice would be my best guess.
It probably disinfected the drain on the way down the sink.
