A cold parkrun at Maldon Prom

An early start, and a chance to gather round with the other volunteers for a photo with a mascot gift (Stanley) from Vitality (a parkrun sponsor). 

Then time for my favourite role, First-timers welcome. We had several tourists from various places in Essex, and an excited one from Bermuda. I was also delighted to welcome 3 local First-timers and 3 policeman who were running their first parkrun dressed in the uniform. So glad that they ran today and so that I got the chance to welcome them.

The  run itself was fairly tough again. I reminded myself that 2 tree planting days and a Friday row, as well as very slippery woods, were not conducive to running a fast time. Nevertheless I enjoyed the challenge and kept going. Official time 32:45.

Sofie's for lunch - the best sandwich in the world - a Chrismas sandwich.  A shame that it won't be on the menu in the new year.

The afternoon I spent wrapping gifts with music and mulled wine. 

We watched the 20 year highlights of Strictly this evening  - loved every minute. G agreed to give dancing lessons a go in the new year. So I have emailed an adult dance school - strike whilst the iron is hot.

The perfect end to another great day.
