Finally... the emergency tree decoration blip? Well, yes. And no.

23rd December is for the Allheal, or mistletoe. Of course, it's all written by Romans, so who knows what the truth is, but 'they say' that after the thirteen moonths there was an additional day required to make up the full 365 day year. That day was dedicated as sacred to mistletoe, which the Druids cut with a golden sickle.

Here's a 24k gold plated mistletoe by Georg Jensen, gifted to us by a lovely Druid some years ago. If you look closely you can see at least half a dozen selfies!
