On the way down from Glenridding Dodd

Another Wainwright ticked, the diminutive Glenridding Dodd above the village of that name. In the main blip we are descending alongside Mossdale Beck towards Ullswater. The extra is to prove we got to the top of the Dodd.

We moved on from staying with our friends in Keswick for the main event, Christmas at the Inn on the Lake. Festivities start tomorrow, we had an extra night courtesy of an offer of free B&B on 23rd as long as we ate in the restaurant. Which we did.

The blustery weather of the past few days has given way to more overcast conditions. It wasn’t very pleasant in Keswick when we left; the weather improved as we drove to Glenridding. Still murky but more or less dry for our stumble up the Dodd.

As the first event tomorrow is an afternoon tea we plan to beg Arniston Crag above Patterdale after a “hearty Cumbrian Breakfast”
