Christmas Eve Eve…
Up early to start the tidy up of wrapping paper and all the other odds and sods that are lying around.
Nick (kitchen fitter) arrived harassed from driving across Perth to pick up supplies. Apparently the traffic was terrible. He won’t be finished today as this old house isn’t making changes to pipe work easy. He had to pick up a 1 metre drill bit as the outside wall is so thick! He was going to cancel his plans tomorrow so he could carry on working but I could not, in good conscience, enjoy my Christmas Eve lunch with friends knowing he’d cancelled his plans. He’s going to be in at the end of the week anyway so may well enjoy Christmas Eve. He’s been working 7 days on the trot as it is.
Once tidied, made Vickie, Nick and I bacon rolls and coffee. Vickie and Alan then headed off for some last minute Christmas shopping in Livingston. Rather them than me.
I turned my attention to making gingerbread fudge. First attempt and it won’t be the last. It’s rather good. Once sliced into squares I split it into thirds. One third for Keith and Mairi, one third for T & V and the rest for us :-))
GP appointment this evening to discuss all the antibiotics I’ve been prescribed this year. A worthwhile discussion.
Home for dinner and some more gonk making for tomorrow. Shattered now!
Oh, postman delivered a lovely gift from Anna and Faith today. They made D and me little ceramic decs for the Christmas tree, a fairy and a tree :-))
