Every Picture Tells .....

SUNDAY

A wet and windy start to the day, which seems to be the norm for the latter part of 2024.

We had  plans to hit the shops first thing this morning but didn't get our act together in time. With hindsight, it was a good move as we later heard that stores were rammed shoulder-to shoulder with stressed out shoppers.

Instead, we ventured to Prestatyn this afternoon to collect an order from M&S and at the same time we did some Christmas food shopping, and stopped off at the M&S cafe. The roads were quiet, we saw just one cyclist and one car in the first six miles and also, to our surprise, at 3:00 pm  the M&S store was practically deserted but well-stocked. There was a choice of tills with the operators actually waiting for customers.

Even the café was  quiet—no queue for a cappuccino and no struggle to find a seat.

Back at home, we deleted the turkey (and other purchased foods) from the Christmas Eve Ocado delivery.

Today's photo features Bianca, the lovely Big Issue seller who you’ll find outside M&S in Prestatyn. She's there, rain or shine, with a smile and a kind word for everyone who passes by—whether they buy a magazine or not.

On the other side of the world it's now Monday in NZ and Harriet and George are preparing for their trip back to the UK.
