Decorating the Church
I had arranged to meet friend J in Wimborne. We started with a chat over a coffee, and had lunch in a little Levantine café. In between we had a walk around the town, and visited the Minster.
Wimborne Minster is a beautiful building inside and out. Entering the building it was a hive of activity, lots of volunteers (all women, bar a chap in charge of the vacuuming) decorating the church so it would be ready for the Christmas services. It was very apparent that there was a big focus on children, with a children’s service at 3pm. Appropriately perhaps the Minster is dedicated to a woman - St Cuthberga, who founded an Abbey Church on the site in the 8th century.
