A trip to Bath
Not many museums and art galleries open on a Monday round these parts. My friend M and I wanted an exhibition and lunch. The answer was the Holbourne Museum in Bath. Their permanent exhibition is mainly 18th century portraits of men who grew rich from the slave trade. Or religious paintings. Neither my thing.
Their special exhibition was Paula Rego and Goya prints - weird and rather sinister. And this neon tiger. Which I absolutely loved. It’s made by Chila Kumari Singh Burman - she was inspired by the tiger which her father had on top of his ice-cream van in Liverpool when she was a child:)
