Shower

I used to work on Christmas Eve, who knows how I managed to do that and still get ready, I haven't stopped all day. 

I needed to go and get bread first thing, my local deli has amazing sourdough and said they'd put a loaf aside for me when I went in there earlier this week. I decided to attach a run to that chore (remembering to do most of the running before collecting the bread) which killed those two birds. Then I had to go up to the allotment to dig up the (quite stumpy but big enough) parsnips, and got some leeks while I was there. They're a bit muddy but will be great on boxing day. I pulled the sprouts at the same time and remembered to get the swede I picked and steamed earlier in the year out of the freezer. Normally we have home grown spuds as well but I didn't grow the right ones this year so Himself bought some instead.  He's peeled and par boiled those, they've gone a bit mushy but it's too late to do anything about that. Between us we've now done all the prep which does make for an easier day tomorrow.

Present wrapping also took me a good couple of hours, including a last minute juggle and identifying an emergency bottle of wine needed. Luckily I'm not seeing my family until the weekend as the wine is for my brother!

I should probably go and shower now......
